Overview

The Certified APM Technical Consultant Professional is a part of the overall GE Digital Education Services Certification Framework. The APM Technical Consultant Professional ensures the competency of candidates at a subject matter expert level. Functional Consultants can pursue certification in various APM pillars, dependent on their industry experience and interests, as well us pursue Expert level credentials if desired.

Role Description

The Certified APM Technical Consultant Professional exam is intended for an individual who implements and/or installs Predix APM (Cloud) and APM Classic and it does require technical understanding of the APM Modules. It is highly advised that candidates also complete the APM End User Associate Certification Exam (for a full understanding of how a customer would use each of the modules and how those APM modules would benefit their organization) and the APM Technical Consultant Associate exam (for a foundational assessment of technically how to deploy Predix APM and Classic APM.

The candidate should have a broad knowledge of programming languages and databases (4 year Bachelor Degree in Engineering, CS or Info Systems or related STEM degree, or Equivalent Software Experience (8+ years).) The candidate should also have working experience (2 years minimum), have experience doing enterprise software implementations in an industrial setting involving data integrations, and should have fundamental understanding of asset performance management concepts.

In this role, you will work closely with APM Technical Leaders/customers to implement GE digital solutions and configure the software based on the customer requirements. You will act as an individual contributor on these engagements, contributing to software implementation, upgrades, and troubleshooting while balancing scope versus project time and resource commitments. Direct customer interaction will be minimal. Implementation of the APM product should be delivered as designed and configured to optimize the customer’s solution (per the Specification/Design documents). This role will include (but not limited to) software installations and configurations, data loading, database related tasks, building reports, troubleshooting, and minor customizations.

The candidate should be able to:

  • Understand APM Terminology, functionality of the APM Software suite, and implementation of APM (completing the APM End User Associate Certification and the APM Technical Consultant Associate exams are highly recommended).
  • Perform on-prem Installation verification and configurations in all environment types.
  • Provide technical expertise to perform baseline database analysis and APM Upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot installation and configuration of APM Software while collaborating with GED Customer Support.
  • Create Customer Data Visualization using queries, reports, dashboards, site filtering, and graphs using customer data.
  • Perform base line integration using standard data loaders and templates.
  • Understand Historian integrations and perform mobile device enablement.
  • Provide Consulting services to drive successful implementation of assigned APM projects through requirements gathering, design, effort estimation, and leading technical workshops.
  • Execute Unit Test Plan, participate in FAT, UAT and stabilization support.
